A wildland/brush truck delivered to the Onida Fire Department.
Brush 2 is a wildland/brush truck built for the Onida Fire Department (unit 59-FS) on a 2020 Ford F-550 crew-cab 4x4 — a nimble first-out rig for grass and field fires around Onida, SD.
We built a custom aluminum diamond-plate flat bed (96" x 137") on a 6061-T6 subframe, with shock-assist diamond-plate side compartments, a triple slide-out drawer bank, top baskets over the reels, and a slide-out frame-rail tray for extra gear. A 500-gallon G3 poly tank feeds a CET mid-range pump with a 20 hp Honda engine and stainless discharge manifolds, plus a Hannay electric booster reel with 1" x 100' line.
Access platforms up front give the crew a spot to work the water-fill and pump controls, and chevron striping and scene lighting finish the rear. Designed and fabricated in-house at Midwest Design in Arlington, SD.
